Join Dawn Heywood for an archaeological Lunchtime Lecture

In Medieval Europe the practice of preserving holy relics became widespread, and the manufacture of beautifully crafted reliquaries in which to keep them was highly regarded work carried out by skilled craftsmen.  This lecture will explore the craftsmanship involved in making these remarkable items, including goldsmithing and enamelling, and take a look at some of the astonishing reliquaries that survive today.

Dawn Heywood is the Collections Access Officer (art) at The Collection.

This talk is part of our ongoing 'Lunchtime Lectures' series. It will be held in the auditorium at The Collection, starting at 12.30 and lasting for approximately 30 minutes.
