Romans Week

Join us for Romans Week to celebrate Lincoln's Roman collections.

Celebrate the final days of the major exhibition 'Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum' at the British Museum in London and the launch of the new touring exhibition:' Roman Empire: Power and People' travelling to six museums across the UK.  Come and see Lincoln's fantastic Roman collections, giving an insight into how important Lindum Colonia was in Roman times.

Our Collections Access Officer for archaeology, Antony Lee, will be offering free introductory talks in the gallery on the development of Roman Lincoln, so come along for an in-depth look at some of our wonderful Roman collections.  Tours are on Tuesday 24th and Thursday 26th September at 1.30 and lasting for approximately 30 minutes.  There is no need to book.  The talks will start from the museum reception desk.

There will also be a chance to see the British Museum's innovative 'Pompeii Live for Schools' film, originally only in cinemas but now available for all to see at The Collection for one day only.  Showings are on Sunday 29th September at 10.30am and 2pm.  The showings are free and there is no need to book.  Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
