Lunchtime Lecture - Is the Anglo Saxon invasion a myth?
Part of our Lunchtime Lecture series 'Rethinking the Dark Ages', this talk will examine the evidence for the Anglo Saxon invasion of Britain
Join The Collection's Erik Grigg, who is just about to complete his PhD on Anglo Saxon England, to explore the realities of the beginnings of Anglo Saxon England. Did raiding warbands terrorise the people of eastern Britain or was the change from Roman Britain to Anglo Saxon England a more peaceful, cultural change?
Lunchtime Lectures start at 12.30 in the museum auditorium, and last for approximately 30 minutes.
This event is FREE and there is no need to book.
