Lunchtime Lecture - Anglo Saxon Hanging Bowls
Part of our Lunchtime Lecture series 'Rethinking the Dark Ages', this talk will examine Lincolnshire's beautiful but mysterious hanging bowls
Join The Collection's Dawn Heywood for a look at the Anglo Saxon hanging bowls found in Lincolnshire. Although more of these beautifully manufactured and decorated bowls have been found in Lincolnshire than any other English county, their function has never been fully explained and some have been deliberately stabbed before being buried. This illustrated talk will investigate some of the theories behind the use and significance of these bowls.
Lunchtime Lectures start at 12.30 in the museum auditorium, and last for approximately 30 minutes.
This event is FREE and there is no need to book.
