Lincolnshire Artists’ Society Exhibition 2017

This popular exhibition, displayed in the Usher Gallery, showcases the work of some of Lincolnshire's most talented artists

The Lincolnshire Artists’ Society first exhibited at The Usher Gallery in 1927 and has exhibited there many times over the years, including for their 110th Annual Exhibition in 2016. The Usher is welcoming them back for an extra show this autumn.

Alan Parker, Chairman of the Society, said: “We are honoured and delighted to be invited back to the Usher this year. The exhibition promises to be spectacular with new works from members, who relish the opportunity to display their work in such a wonderful environment".

The works featured above are: Alan Parker - An Icelandic Trawlerman 2016, Avril Morris - Girl with a Red Glove, John Pickering - Water Garden 1, Clive Redshaw - Spring Early, Fraser Scarfe - Lincoln from Greetwell Quarry

 

The Society will be exhibiting from 17th September to 15th October in the Usher Gallery. Open 10am - 4pm last entry 3:45pm (open 10.45am on first Monday of every month).

Background information:
The Lincolnshire Artists’ Society, founded as the Lincolnshire Drawing Club, celebrated its Centenary in 2006. Primarily an exhibiting society welcoming artists from all over the county, the L.A.S. started out with an Annual Exhibition in the loose boxes of the stables at Monks Manor, Lincoln, the home of its founder, Miss Elsie Ruston, and her art collecting industrialist father, Joseph. The exhibition took place in many areas of Lincoln finding its ideal home in the Usher Gallery from 1927.
