Dr Grimoire’s Strange Tales From The Darker Side

As part of our Museums at Night events, join us for a spine-chilling evening of mystery, imagination and murder unlike anything you've seen before

The Collection is presenting a show to die for when an entertainer deliberately stops his own heart as part of a performance of dark and sinister story-telling.

Veteran "psychological investigator" Dr Nicolas Grimoire is inviting the public to join him at The Collection in Lincoln on Saturday 18th May for a unique mixture of Gothic  magic, psychological illusion and mind-reading mysteries in the style of TV’s Derren Brown.

During the course of the evening guests will discover the secret passion of Lincoln’s most infamous mass-murderer, help conjure up the names of the dead and hear about one of the twentieth century’s most unusual crimes.

“It is a spine-chilling blend of magic and storytelling in the fine British tradition of the Hammer Horror films,” says Dr Grimoire

“During the course of the evening my heart will stop!  And yours could miss a beat or two as well!”

“We all know how scary ghost stories can be, so just imagine if they were illustrated by a magical effect or two using suitably authentic artefacts.”

“Audience members get to take part in the experiments,” says Nick. ““It is not unusual to find participants in the performance debating their own “hidden powers” long after the show has ended.”

Dr Grimoire is the alter-ego of magician Nick Brunger who was one of the founder members of BBC Lincolnshire.  He retired from the BBC in 2008 after a 35 year career as a presenter, producer and broadcasting manager and is now based in South Wales.

His unsettling show has previously performed at venues all over the UK including museums, castles, stately home, court rooms and prisons.
