New Afterschool Art Club for ages 11-16!
For budding Artists and Art appreciators age 11-16!
Join the Usher Gallery learning team on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month to learn art techniques, play with art materials, discover exhibitions and work with practicing artists.
The art club will be open from 3:30pm - 6:00pm. Participants will be able to drop in, to accommodate varying school leaving times.
Eash session will offer specific tasks plus an assortment of materials for Young Artists to create their own work.

What to expect:
This workshop is taking place in the Clore Learning room at the Usher Gallery. The Clore learning room is accessible by the entrance of the Usher. To find the Clore learning room, enter the Usher gallery by the glass extension entrance and go to the main door on the left. There are ramps and wide doors to accommodate wheelchairs, and a disabled access toilet oppositive the Clore learning room door, behind the reception desk.
This session will run from 3:30pm -6:00pm
The Usher Gallery after school Art Club for 11-16 is a drop off club.
If arriving after the Usher Gallery closes to the public (after 4pm) , please come to the main entrance to the gallery on Danesgate and ring the doorbell. The main entrance is the modern extension on the left side of the Usher Gallery.
If you are happy for your child to arrive/depart unattended, please ensure you have filled out the permissions slip on the contact details form. Signing the permission slip confirms your agreement that your children will be free to arrive and depart as they please.
In this event you will be invited to try different techniques and art materials. Occassionally the Usher Gallery will invite guest artists.
The tutor will introduce the activity verbally, they will provide advice, help and guidance throughout the session. They will also provide written notes and visual examples. Participants are free to ask questions and discuss what they are doing with tutor and each other throughout the session.
Some elements of this workshop may be challenging if you have difficulty with dexterity, however our experienced instructors will be available help you. This session will be concentrated, but relaxed and quiet. We have noise cancelling head phones and fidget toys available, please feel free to request this upon your arrival or throughout the session.
