Have you heard of keeping up with the Joneses? This phrase expresses our need to keep up with fashions and trends in our cultural society. Throughout history people have possessed objects that portray self-confidence, showing others in society their desired status and cultural background. This tour involves looking at some of the symbolic objects in the museum, which show the evolving changes in household possessions that carried significant meaning of hierarchy throughout history.
