Museum of Me
In partnership with Extraordinary us, Lincoln Museum and Usher Gallery were pleased to unveil a new art installation located just outside The John Dawber Garden. In the five days of Museum of Me, mothers of Lincoln had their lives celebrated in an interactive museum without walls, with a mother's day tribute to finish it off. Focused on Matrescence, the exhibition was called “Becoming Mum”. From Tuesday 10 March to Tuesday17 March 2026 Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive councillor for culture at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “As a proud mum and champion for Lincolnshire’s families, I’m thrilled that Lincoln has been chosen to host this month-long celebration of womanhood.” Featured Museum Stars: We Are The Matriarchy - An exhibition covering the complex transition into motherhood. Katy-Jayne Skayman : Farm girl, to foster parent. Charlotte Sclater: A creative mother who finds her sanctuary in her garden. Lisa Davies: Sword dancer, fire dancer, belly dancer, dancing queen and Mum of Sarah Trowman… Sarah Trowman: An expectant mother with a whole village of people waiting to support her.
