On the Beach at Night Alone

‘On the Beach at Night Alone’ was an exhibition by Ellen Brady exploring our collective imagination of the ocean, being ‘lost at sea’ and both our physical and psychological relationship to water. Brady is particularly interested in the ways in which we attempt to contain and ‘make safe’ the sea, such as: the architecture of sea defences, satellite surveillance, weather forecasting, ship design and light houses. Her work explores these ideas through an immersive audio-visual installation.
