Masterstrokes: Great Paintings from York Art Gallery

Masterstrokes: Great Paintings from York Art Gallery was an exhibition of 33 paintings from York Art Gallery’s fantastic collection on tour to six regional venues while the Gallery was closed for a major refurbishment programme in 2013. This exhibition provided a unique snapshot of the collection, bringing together a selection of some of York’s most significant and popular oil paintings from 600 years of art, ranging from the 15th century to the 20th. The Collection took this unique opportunity to present this collection alongside contemporary works from the Arts Council Collection.
