Sharon Sycamore-Batty is a contemporary artist who works in acrylic paint and mixed media including collage materials. Since joining the Lincolnshire Artist's Society in 2021, she’s had several major solo art exhibitions, has curated her own gallery spaces and taken part in numerous local groups shows. Her work is now starting to be exhibited further afield and she was recently chosen art fairs in South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire as well as an art residency in North Norfolk. She has two small studios one in Lincoln and the other in Yorkshire. When describing her work Sharon said “My aim is to produce artwork which has a feeling of flow and expressive marks, freedom of movement and contrasting light and dark tones as well as interesting textures & shapes. Although my paintings are not wholly representational and are largely abstract, I am still inspired and fascinated by the world around me and I find joy in immersing myself in nature, where just lately this has resulted in a new series of imagined floral collages”.
